So you’re lying in bed good to go to sleep…but for whatever reason you are still awake…why is this?  Many people experience this same problem and may lie in bed for 30 mins to up to a few hours and this will obviously drive you insane!

Here are some really very easy to carry out tips to help you to go to sleep quicker.

3 awesome techniques to fall asleep faster

1) Meditation

Something very simple you can do to go to sleep quicker is to meditate.  When I say meditate I refer to you finding a nice quiet place for yourself and spend between 10-15 minutes consciously permitting yourself to relax.  In this time you should sit down in a cushty position, close your eyes and target your body.  Concentrate on how your arms and legs feel, how your torso and head feels, concentrate on your breathing, feel your body and clear your consciousness of your rash thoughts.  Try and slow everything down, feel your heart beat slow down as well as your breathing as you take enormous, deep breaths.
This is an especially relaxing exercise so helping relax your body, making it simpler for you to drift off to sleep.  Listening to some quiet, relaxing music can also compliment this meditation.

2) Hot shower or Bath

Having a pleasant relaxing shower or bath might be the excellent way to end your day, and is an effective way to drop off quicker.  What occurs when you have a hot bath / shower is that your body temperature increases a little, and then it drops a little.  This small drop is what will help you to sleep more deeply, as temperature is an important part of what makes you tired.  additionally it helps you to relax and this naturally helps you to drift off.

3) Light

Light is a big factor in getting to sleep.  If your room has too much light in it then you will have difficulty getting to sleep.  When your eyes are exposed to light your body produces certain hormones that lead you to wake up, and this is a real bad way to fall asleep faster as your body is now trying to wake up.  Ensure that your room is as dark as you can make it.  This includes turning off the TV and PC, and covering up dribbling light from under doors and around curtains.
